The 3rd Namibia Oil and Gas Conference (NOGC 2025) will take place from 12 to 15 August in Windhoek, highlighting Namibia as an emerging frontier in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. As the event grows in significance, it offers unparalleled opportunities for knowledge exchange, networking, and skill development within the industry.

The conference is hosted by the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN) in partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), with support from the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) and SNC Incorporated. It also has the official endorsement of Namibia’s Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy.

For 2025, NOGC has doubled its exhibition space to meet growing demand for showcasing new technologies, innovations, and industry services. The event also offers enhanced networking opportunities to encourage collaboration and support sustainable growth in the sector. The programme kicks off on 12 August with a pre-conference Local Content and Supplier Masterclass, building on the success of 2024 by helping companies develop the skills needed to become suppliers to major operators in Namibia’s energy industry.

On 13 and 14 August, the main conference features a new two-day Technical Conference where industry experts discuss the latest trends and developments in oil, gas, and energy. On 15 August, the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board will offer a business matching service to connect investors with companies, helping them find partners and explore opportunities in Namibia’s energy sector.

As Namibia positions itself as a key player in the global energy market, NOGC 2025 serves as a vital platform for professionals to exchange ideas, improve expertise, and discuss the future of the energy landscape. The conference also addresses the critical need for a skilled workforce to support the growing demands of the oil, gas, and energy sectors.

NOGC 2025 will highlight the growing role of natural gas in Namibia’s energy mix, featuring sessions on key projects like the Kudu Gas Field and new offshore discoveries. Experts will discuss infrastructure, investment opportunities, and natural gas’s role in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Paulo Coelho of NAMCOR emphasized the theme, “From Exploration to Action: Positioning Namibia as the Next Energy Frontier,” encouraging young Namibians—students, entrepreneurs, and early-career professionals—to actively participate, learn, and contribute to the sector’s development.

Jesaya Hano-Oshike, Deputy Chairman of the Economic Association of Namibia, noted the event’s rapid growth since 2023, with a 52% increase in exhibition space and 40% more attendees. NOGC 2025 will double in size with a new hall, welcoming more entrepreneurs, SMEs, and new market entrants, reflecting its rising importance locally and internationally.

The 2024 event attracted over 1,000 delegates—up from 841 in 2023—as well as 29 sponsors and partners, 42 exhibitors, 35 participating countries (up from 24 in 2023), and 71 speakers. This year’s conference will expand its agenda over four days.

Hano-Oshike also announced a new mentor-mentee matchmaking platform designed to connect youth with industry experts, providing valuable exposure and guidance. He stressed the importance of a practical approach, emphasizing that in its third year, the conference aims to go beyond discussion and deliver tangible benefits to the sector.

Margreth Gustavo, Executive Director at NIPDB, reflected on last year’s success and highlighted three key goals for 2025: unlocking investment-ready supply chains, increasing local content and industrial participation, and promoting youth employment through skills development. She stressed that Namibia’s oil and gas future depends on its people and businesses onshore and reaffirmed NIPDB’s commitment to collaboration for sustainable growth and economic diversification.

The Namibia Oil and Gas Conference remains a key event for stakeholders across African and global energy industries, consistently attracting a diverse audience including oil and gas companies, suppliers, government officials, regulators, and service providers. The conference continues to serve as a critical platform for shaping the future of Namibia’s energy sector and supporting the continent’s broader energy development goals.
